Pros and Cons of Dating a Rap Nxgga

Let’s first start off by defining what a “rap nigga” is, shall we?

Rap nigga(RN) – a local nigga….that raps.

Now let’s get into it. While the definition of a RN may not sound like the most honorable thing in the world, dating one can have its high points… as well as it’s lows.

So let’s take it step by step. Here are the pros and cons of dating a “rap nigga.”

Pro: HE IS REBELLIOUS AND A LOT OF FUN
RN’s usually don’t follow the rules and with that comes a lot of spontaneity. At any given moment, you could be doing things you never thought you would. Living a real life (low budget) fantasy.

Con: YOU GOTTA DEAL WITH FUNNY MONEY
If you’re dating a true RN he most likely has no job, only a part time job, or is in and out of employment. With that being said he’s usually broke so your exciting lifestyle can be limited. If he’s not broke, he’s doing something illegal to make up for it and that’s cool. No judgment here. But just know your rap daddy could get locked up at any time and your trap queen head-ass can be going right along with him.

Pro: YOU GET DOUBLE THE CHANCE OF LIVING A BETTER LIFE
Hopefully, you have some type of plans of being successful on your own but if you fail, securing a RN might double your chances of said success. Maybe your goal is to be a stay at home wife, a video model, a Love & Hip Hop cast member, whatever. Whether you fall into a relationship with a RN on accident or on purpose, your chances of living a better life might double up.

Con: YOU GET DOUBLE THE CHANCE OF GETTING YOUR FEELINGS HURT
The chances of you taking private jets to the Caribbean ain’t the only thing that has the potential to double up on your ass. The chances of you sitting at home with a bonnet on your head, watching your ex rap nigga on TV may become a reality too. Breakups are almost always bad and in this generation they come a dime a dozen but it makes it even worse when he goes on to live lavishly and starts dating your celebrity idol.

Pro: YOU GET TO BE APART OF THE CREATIVE PROCESS
In any relationship, support is important. After spending long nights with him in the studio or watching him stay up all night writing or looking for beats, you’ll eventually chime in and contribute to your RN’s work. Even if you’re not contributing on purpose your relationship will find a way to influence his work.

Con: YOU HAVE TO DEAL WITH “ I WANT TO WORK WITH YOU ASS” BITCHES
LORD! Now this one is really the connest con of them all. Girls (guys too) will come out of the woodwork, claiming to be artists and trying to work with your RN. Fake male artists will waste the time he could be spending with you and fake girl artists will try to take what’s yours. Whether it be because their looking for a meal ticket or a chance to brag, you and your RN will have to deal with shady, fake and phony people.

Pro: HE IS AMBITIOUS

Nothing says ambition more than a RN who has been blocked over 100 times on social media for spamming his followers with constant mixtape posts… and still hits the rest of his followers with constant mixtape posts. RN’s who are truly dedicated to their work are always working on their craft and watching someone chase their dreams constantly is not only commendable but admirable.

Con: HIS MUSIC > YOU

Selfishness isn’t the most frowned upon thing within this age. These are the times when you should be focused on your future and setting up your life to be exactly where you want it to be in 5-10 years. So while your relationship may be high on the “important ladder”, there is a chance that it still doesn’t top his music. While being told that you come second to his career is understandable it’s still not the greatest feeling in the world. Can’t he just find a healthy balance?

Pro: AW! HE WROTE A SONG ABOUT YOU

You can’t deny that having a love song written for or about you is in the “top 10 dopest things ever” list. For a lot of RN’s music is the best way to express themselves so a song might let you know how deeply he really feels for you. It may give you the answers you’ve been looking for or it may just serve as a sweet gesture.

Con: HE WROTE A SONG BUT THAT SHIT NOT ABOUT YOU SIS

You might have thought that the lyrics about him wanting to hold you all night long were about you but once he mentioned the birthmark on your lower back that you absolutely DO NOT have, that’s when the questions started to rush in. Especially 10 minutes later when you realized that the chick who just recently started showing up at every show has one in that same exact spot. There may not always be a lady in question. A lot of songs that rap niggas come up with are made up stories about made up people. On the other hand, a lot of their songs are about real experiences as well. So keep your eyes and your ears open.

Pro: YOU ALWAYS HAVE SOMEWHERE TO GO
Being that the guy you are dating is an aspiring rapper, he most likely will do all that he can in order to get his name out there. That means he’s doing shows and whatever else that has the potential to take him where he wants to be and lucky for you you get to be there. You will never have to complain about having nothing to do. With an RN, there is always somewhere to go.

Con: YOU ALWAYS HAVE SOMEWHERE TO GO
Damn! How many shows and events can a nigga book. Too much of anything isn’t good and for the times that you just want to chill at home, you might be pressured to go support your RN. Not only that, but with there always being an event to go to it’s hardly ever that the two of you get to have alone time. Even if you don’t feel obligated to hit every studio session or performance you’re invited to, you’ll want to as soon as you remember that those “I wanna work with you” ass bitches will be there.
